I am excited to be in my second favorite country in the whole wide world. Claro, America takes first prize.

In Spain food is taken very seriously; especially in Catalonia. I experienced this first hand when I studied here in college. I will write up some separate articles and posts about Spain/Barcelona and the cuisine, but suffice to say that these folks plan dinner while eating lunch. They plan things around where and when they can eat. They are just like me.

When you taste these foods you understand why food comes first. Bold, lively flavors that have the power to really grab you, but served in a simple tapas style that lends to sharing and relaxed conversation. You take your time in Spain.

Spanish is one of the healthiest diets in the world and here in Barcelona you can find all the different Spanish options and all the aromas that characterize Catalan cuisine; Mountain fresh herbs, locally bred animals and fresh seafood from the Mediterranean.

And on that note, I am off to the waterfront to compare coffees and find my self a Pincho de Tortilla!
